Geoffrey Farnsworth, AIA
Geoffrey Farnsworth began his career at Schmidt Garden Erikson, Chicago, serving clients in healthcare, education and commercial projects. He was later invited to open a branch office SGE West in Southern California, where he served as Principal until the firm was acquired by Ellerbe Associates. In 1987, at a crossroads in his career, Geof recognized the need for direct communication between the Client and the Architect which had been missing in his previous firms, and in response formed The Farnsworth Group, Ltd.
The studio philosophy Geof has fostered over 35 years centers around communication and ongoing access between the Client and the Design Team. The Farnsworth Group offers Direct Principal Contact throughout the design, approval, and construction process. All projects are executed under the personal direction of Geoffrey Farnsworth, AIA, President and Design Principal.

The Farnsworth Group began as many projects do: as an idea around a kitchen table. While our journey has led us to design opportunities of all sizes across Southern California, our studio remains to its core a small-scale, family-run business. In addition to Geoffrey Farnsworth, his wife Deborah Farnsworth has served as Vice President and trusted advisor to the company since its inception. In the past decade, their daughter Sarah Farnsworth has stepped up as Director of Operations.
